Ice skating on the lake in mid March?
I drove by the lake today, on yet another day well above freezing with the lake opening up and what ice that was left was marked with lots of puddles. The edge by the road where the ice fishermen usually are was wide open. Yet, out in the middle of the lake were 2 ice skaters skating around along with some ice fishermen on the far side.
Now, I understand the desire to stay out and skate and play, but with the ice as questionable as it is, is it really wise to take that risk? I’m usually one who is fine if people risk themselves, but in a situation like this, if for some reason they broke through the ice, they’d be risking the ives of many other people who would be coming to rescue them.
